Air France will go ahead and cut hundreds of jobs as planned next year under the first part of a restructuring plan that has triggered violent protests, the chief executive of Air France-KLM said on Oct. 18.

Air France-KLM's human resources manager was "almost lynched" Oct. 5 by striking workers, who stripped him of his shirt in a protest over the ailing airline's plan to cut 2,900 jobs.

Air France managers fled a meeting on Monday about huge job cuts after angry staff waving banners and flags stormed the room, according to Telegraph.

Airline human resources and labor relations chief Xavier Broseta was captured with his shirt ripped off, his tie hanging from his neck, while battling his way through crowds of workers as he sought to escape.
