Chinese Ambassador Li Manchang responded to this on Friday on Belgrade by saying he will notify the president of China about this in the course of the day.

The ceremony took place after the two leaders met at the presidential palace in Astana.

Nazarbayev pointed to the friendship between the two countries and the contribution of the president of Serbia to the strengthening of ties between them.

Vucic then presented Nazarbayev with the Order of the Republic of Serbia 1st Degree.

Vucic, who is this week with visiting China with a delegation from Serbia, met in Beijing on Tuesday with the Chinese president. According to Tanjug, Xi told Vucic: "Whoever knocks on the door in such a way and so many times, has that door open to him."

But, Vucic revealed that he does not want to present this idea publicly before tomorrow (Tuesday).

"I have yet another idea, I want Serbia to achieve comparative advantages over the countries in the region and Europe, and I will have some strange requests for President Xi. And I hope that you will not laugh, and will understand what I want," explained Vucic.

Putin thus "won" in competition with six other global statespeople, in a poll carried out March 9-13, ahead of the presidential election in Russia on March 18.

Belgrade-based daily Politika writes that when asked which of the stated world leaders they trusted, 58 percent said Putin.

The inclusion is evidence that China hinges its future development on intensifying cooperation which will endure beyond Xi's tenure. In his speech at the congress, President Xi explained the importance of adopting policies to promote high level economic liberalisation and the facilitation of trade and investment:
