A caretta caretta sea turtle being monitored via a transmitter has set sail to the Mediterranean from Anatolia for the second time in four months, probably for a longer journey towards Africa.

Endangered green turtles play role as gardeners of seas
Extinction does not threaten sea creatures thanks to the way green sea turtles prune sea meadows, a source of oxygen in the seas, Sea Turtle Research, Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (DEKAMER) Director Professor Yakup Kaska has told state-run Anadolu Agency.
Caretta carettas start spawning on Turkey's İztuzu beach
Endangered caretta carettas have started spawning on İztuzu beach in the western province of Muğla's Ortaca district.
Caretta carettas leave their eggs in 50-60-centimeter-deep holes. The incubation period is nearly 50 days and then baby turtles reach the sea.
Injured caretta caretta to have 3-D orthopedic chin
A member of the caretta caretta sea turtle community which has been severely injured by a boat is due to receive a 3-D chin thanks to the efforts of the Sea Turtle Research, Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (DEKAMER).
