Baby saved from rubble reunites with mother 54 days after quake

A baby who was saved from the rubble in the southern province of Hatay 128 hours after the earthquake has been reunited with his mother 54 days later.

Yasemin Begdaş, the mother of the baby whom nurses named "Gizem," was rescued alive, while the baby's father and two brothers lost their lives in the deadly Feb. 6 quakes.

Minibus veers off cliff, killing two schoolchildren in southeast

A minibus carrying schoolchildren tumbled down a 300-meter-high cliff, killing two children and wounding 27 others in the Sason district of the southeastern province of Batman on March 10.

Officials said the children, Yasemin Yıldırım and Esat Yıldırım, were siblings.

The accident happened in the early hours of the day, eyewitnesses said.
