Olympiakos stretched its lead at the top of the Super League table to 14 points on Sunday after its road win over Apollon and Aris' reverse at Asteras Tripolis. AEK has climbed back up to second.

The Reds defeated Apollon Smyrnis 3-1 through an Ahmed Hassan brace and a Yann M'Vila goal. Apollon had pulled one back via Abiola Dauda.

Olympiakos is now 11 points clear at the top of the Super League table, after narrowly beating Atromitos away while challengers PAOK and AEK canceled each other out.

A Bruma goal sufficed for Olympiakos to win 1-0 at Atromitos on Sunday and climb to 48 points from 18 matches. The Reds are also reportedly close to signing Arsenal central defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

AEK let its fans down with a 3-0 home reverse to Zorya Luhansk on Thursday for the Europa League and has all but missed out on qualification to the knockout stages, while PAOK wasted a two-goal lead at Eindhoven to go down 3-2 to PSV, but is still in with a chance

PAOK is just a win away from clinching its first league title in 34 years, after beating Lamia at home on Sunday, while Olympiakos thrashed Panetolikos away.

With 24 wins and three draws from 27 games, PAOK is close to winning the championship unbeaten, a feat unseen since 1964 in the Greek league.

PAOK, Olympiakos and AEK marched on with victories in the Super League, while Atromitos dropped to fourth after going down at Xanthi on Sunday.

PAOK defeated Panathinaikos in Athens on Sunday to mathematically clinch the second spot in the Super League, that leads to the Champions League qualifiers, while Kerkyra has become the second team to go down.

With one game left to play, the only pending issue is the last team to make the Europa League qualifiers for next season, with Asteras Tripolis and Xanthi vying for it.

AEK beat Platanias on the road on Sunday and needs just one point to seal its first league title in 24 years.

Lazaros Christodoulopoulos was on target for AEK that downed relegated Platanias 1-0 at Hania, to climb to 63 points from 27 games.

SOCCER: PAOK climbed back to the top of the Super League table on Monday beating Larissa 3-0, goals coming from Yevhen Shakhov, Fernando Varela and Aleksandar Prijovic. PAOK is on 49 points, two ahead of AEK and nine head of Olympiakos after the Reds were deducted three points.

PAOK, Panionios and Larissa have taken the upper hand in their ties after the first leg of the Greek Cup quarterfinals in midweek, while the Olympiakos vs AEK derby ended in a stalemate.

PAOK extended Olympiakos's losing streak to three games in the Super League, beating the leader 2-0 in Thessaloniki and giving fresh interest to the championship.
