An Evening Under the Olive Tree: A Unique Festival in Naxos
For the third consecutive year, the cultural event “An Evening Under the Olive Tree” was held in Naxos with great success. This year’s theme, “A Perfect Moment,” was inspired by Angelos Sikelianos’ poem “Because I Deeply Glorified.” The goal was to highlight the importance of living life fully, which can be achieved through genuine encounters with art and culture.
Crooked cops: 7 cases of corruption resolved in past 2 months
Just over the past two months, the police's Internal Affairs Division has resolved seven cases involving corruption among its members, promping the Citizen Protection Ministry to declare it will show "zero tolerance" to those who "undermine the citizens' trust" in the police.

Police did not use information correctly to prevent soccer violence says minister
Citizen Protection Minister Yiannis Oikonomou admitted in an interview with the public broadcaster ERT on Thursday that "there was information that the Hellenic Police did not use correctly" to prevent the violence between rival football team supporters in Nea Philadelphia, which led to the murder of AEK fan Michalis Katsouris.
Citizen Protection Minister Mitarakis resigns
Minister of Citizen Protection Notis Mitarakis has resigned for "personal reasons."
A government briefing confirmed that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had accepted his resignation.
The Ministry of Citizen Protection is responsible for the country's public security services, such as the police, fire service and General Secretariat for Civil Protection.

Mitsotakis attends train driver’s funeral
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has attended the funeral of Spyros Voulgaris, one of the 57 people killed in last week's railway disaster at Tempe.
Voulgaris, 35, was the driver of the freight train involved in the collision.
