The Greek Justice system has removed the “masks” from protected witnesses “Maximos Sarafis” and “Aikaterini Kelesi,” almost six years after the Novartis case emerged under the SYRIZA-ANEL government as one of Greece’s largest scandals, which has since proven to be a major political fabrication.
Novartis case witness protection lift ‘a day of vindication’
Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, who is now able to take legal action against protected witnesses in a bribery case involving Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis, doctors and public officials as a result of a decision Thursday by the Financial Prosecutor's Office to lift the protection status of the witnesses, described the development as "a day of vindication" with a post on X.

Stournaras testifies over phone call recording
Testifying before a prosecutor Tuesday, Bank of Greece Governor Yiannis Stournaras is said to have accused Alternate Health Minister Pavlos Polakis of illegally recording a telephone conversation between them.
Stournaras allegedly claimed that Polakis told him, during the conversation on his cell phone, that he was recording the call but had not requested his consent to do so.
