The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. With 14 votes in favor and 1 against, the American proposal for a truce between Israel and Hamas was approved. The resolution supports Joe Biden's peace proposal, which Washington claims has already been accepted by the Israeli side.

Israel has agreed to the proposed ceasefire framework presented by US President Joe Biden to end the conflict in Gaza. Despite labeling it as "flawed" and requiring some modifications, Israel's acceptance was confirmed by Ophir Falk, the chief foreign policy adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during an interview with the Sunday Times.

The US expects Israel to accept the Gaza peace plan if Hamas approves it, according to White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, as reported by Reuters. Kirby stated in an interview with ABC News' This Week program that if Hamas agrees to the proposal presented to them, Israel is expected to approve it as well.

Fresh strikes were reported in Gaza's refugee camps overnight into Monday, as mediators urged Israel and Hamas to agree to a truce and hostage release deal outlined by U.S. President Joe Biden.
