In an interview with the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, Chief Secretary Zhivko Kotsev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported a 3.7% decrease in overall crime compared to last year. Notably, crimes against persons, car thefts, and property theft have seen a decline, while crimes solved have increased by 3%.

Tonight, a citizens' protest is planned because of the accident with the dead 15-year-old boy.

The organizers insist on stricter control of violators on the road. Last night, a protest with this demand was held in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs building.

"The governing coalition does not listen to the people. Prices are rising, scandals are multiplying. They are preparing to hijack the Constitution, change the national holiday, subjugate the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the services politically.

The former Deputy Chief Secretary Zhivko Kotsev will be proposed as Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov announced to journalists in the parliament.
