For the 13th consecutive year, the Spetses Mini Marathon was hosted on the enchanting island of Spetses, gathering thousands of participants from October 4th to 6th.

The event, held at Vaires-sur-Marne, saw the Greek duo finish behind Great Britain, who took gold, and Romania, who secured silver.

This was their debut Olympic appearance, earning Greece its fourth medal in Paris and the sixth Olympic rowing medal in Greek history.

In a span of just 20 minutes, Greek rowers secured two new medals at the Olympic Games. Milena Kontou and Zoe Fitsiou delivered an electrifying performance in the women’s lightweight double sculls final.

Although they started well and were ahead in the first 300 meters, they were in third place after the first 500 meters, with the British and Romanian crews leading.

The Greek Men’s National Water Polo Team enters the Olympic Games in Paris today, facing Romania, while interesting matches are expected from Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari in tennis.
