Bulgaria is on track to meet the final requirement for eurozone membership, with expectations to fulfill the price stability criterion by the end of 2024.

The European Labor Day will be celebrated in Bulgaria with an electronic labor exchange in Sofia, organized by the Employment Agency. It will be opened by Zornitsa Rusinova, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy.

Additional BGN 80 million are provided by the government to tackle unemployment in Bulgaria. Money will be directed to long-term unemployed and unskilled people. This is what Deputy Social Minister Zornitsa Rusinova told in front of the Bulgarian National Television.

There are more than 23 000 openings available via employment offices in Bulgaria at the moment, Labor Minister Zornitsa Rusinova has said.

At an event marking the launch of a new employment bureau in Bulgaria's capital Sofia, Rusinova has added the figure goes hand in hand with a decrease in the share of jobless people registered "for the first time" in 11 years.

The minimum monthly wage (MMW) will be increased from BGN 420 to BGN 460 as of January 1, 2017 but there will be legislative amendments to the method via which MMW is calculated next year, stated Social Minister Zornitsa Rusinova.
