No More Nightlife and Casinos in Bansko
Bansko Municipality voted an ordinance banning the construction of more nightclubs, casinos and erotic bars in the resort. It is also forbidden to rebuild the existing ones, which are currently 20, reported the Bulgarian National Television.

Bansko Opera Fest Taking Place 23-25 August 2018
Bansko. For the ninth consecutive year Bansko Municipality will host the Bansko Opera Fest, Magdalena Sotirova, organiser of the event, told Focus Radio - Pirin. They always choose to stage the festival at the end of August during the last hot weekend to attract more tourists, she said.

Protest "Future for Bansko Municipality" Closes Main Road E-79 on Wednesday
"Future for Bansko Municipality" warned that thew will close the main road E-79 on Wednesday in support of the construction of a second cabin line in the resort. This was reported on the Facebook of the association.
Recently the mayor of Bansko Georgi Ikonomov did not exclude the protests of the people from the city to move to the capital.
State of Emergency Declared in Bulgaria's Bansko Municipality
A state of emergency has been declared by the mayor of Bansko Municipality.
The Glazne river has overflooded due to the heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Two bridges over the river have been washed away. The ski road has been flooded. Hundreds of volunteers and employees are fighting the flood.
Bansko Municipality Seeks to Become Concessionaire of Dobrinishte Ski Zone
The Bansko Municipality seeks to sign a concession contract for the ski zone near Dobrinishte, as well as the new tourism zones delineated in the forthcoming management plan of the Pirin National Park, according to Bansko Mayor Geogi Ikonomov.
