The "Franz Kafka 1883-1924" exhibition, hosted by the Beyoğlu Municipality and organized by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Istanbul, has opened at the 6th Circle Art Gallery inside the municipality building, drawing attention from art enthusiasts.

Excavation work at a construction site in İstanbul's Beyoğlu district has brought to light an Ottoman-era bath.

Orhan Pamuk, a prominent novelist and Turkey's first Nobel laureate, has tied the knot with Aslı Akyavaş, with whom he has been together for nearly 10 years.

The couple's wedding ceremony was held at Beyoğlu Municipality's Office in presence of their close family members due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A funeral was held on Feb. 14 for Kadir Topbaş, former mayor of the Turkish metropolis Istanbul. He died on Feb. 13 at the age of 76.

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also attended the ceremony at the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul.

"We are facing a great calamity. Coronavirus has separated from us many of our companions," Erdoğan said.

Many stray animals living in the animal shelter established in Istanbul's Cihangir Park by the Beyoğlu Municipality found new homes during an event held on April 4 for World Stray Animals Day.
