Bodrum to host jazz festival in September
The International Bodrum Jazz festival will be held between Sept. 1 and 9 with the support of the Jazz Association and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality.
September was chosen for the event because July and August were already high season in the Aegean province of Muğla's Bodrum district and organizers wanted to bring an activity at the end of the tourist season.

Bodrum Underwater as Floods, Hail Sweep the Turkish Resort Town
The Aegean resort town of Bodrum in southwestern Turkey's Muğla province was pounded with hail and heavy rains that swept away cars and left the town underwater on Thursday.
Rainfall began in the morning hours and grew in intensity in mid-afternoon, turning streets into lakes and stranding drivers and pedestrians.
Mausoleum at Halicarnassus to be restituted
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, also known as the tomb of King Mausolus, located in the western province of Muğla's Bodrum district and listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is set to be restituted along with works to open the way from Bodrum Harbor to the tomb have been initiated.

Prominent Turkish actor dies of liver cancer
Renowned Turkish actor Levent K?rca died of liver cancer early on Oct. 12 in Istanbul. He was 67.
K?rca had been undergoing treatment for liver cancer at Marmara University's Pendik Training and Research Hospital since July.

New sunken ships discovered in Aegean
A group of researchers from Ä°zmirâs Dokuz Eylül Universityâs Institute of Marine Science and Technology (IMST), who conduct research on sunken ships located between MuÄlaâs Datça peninsula and Antalya, have discovered eight new sunken ships.
