Ruling AKP lawmakers press charges against former top commander
Six lawmakers from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) have filed criminal complaints against former Chief of General Staff İlker Başbuğ after he said FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup attempt, had played a significant role in the adoption of laws in parliament that resulted in several military personnel to serve jail time over a decade ago.

Turkish police on Dec. 30 detained 102 people with suspected links to ISIL in the countdown to New Year's Eve, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

12 ISIL militants en-route to Syria detained in Turkey
A total of 12 suspected Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants have been detained in Turkey while preparing to cross the border into Syria.
Eight militants, including seven foreign nationals, were detained in southeastern Gaziantep province, which shares a border with war-torn Syria, Do?an News Agency reported.
