Turkish F-16 fighter jet crashes in Diyarbakır

An F-16 fighter aircraft belonging to the Turkish Air Force crashed today on landing in the southeast of the country.

The jet, part of the 2nd Air Force Command based in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, crashed, Deputy Gov. Ahmet Günaydın told Anadolu Agency. He said the plane's engine caught fire during landing.

Man shot while attempting to pull down flag in Antalya

A man was shot by a police officer as he was trying to pull down a Turkish flag near a police station in Antalya late July 16.
