Historical objects found in house planned to be demolished in Turkey’s east
Three large vase-like structures have been found in a house which was planned to be demolished after sustaining several damages in an earthquake in the eastern province of Elazığ earlier this year.

Elazığ quake victims move to 'container city'
Victims of an earthquake in eastern Turkey earlier this year began moving to a "container city" on Feb. 28, composed of prefabricated housings.
The new surrounding provides residents with necessary infrastructure, hot water and a children's park.
Nine-hundred containers has been constructed in the Doğukent and 456 in the Kırklar neighborhoods of Elazığ.

Turkey should focus on quake risk management: Professor
Turkey has done a lot since a major earthquake in 1999 in terms of disaster management, but the focus must be on taking measures before earthquakes strike, according to a prominent geologist.
"In the current mentality we seem to say: 'Let the earthquake happen, we will quickly heal the wounds.' This is an outdated approach," Professor Naci Görür has told the Hürriyet Daily News.
Two earthquakes strike eastern Turkey
Two earthquakes of 4.5 and 4.2 magnitudes struck Turkey's eastern province of Elazığ early on Feb. 1, with no reports of damage, according to the Disaster and Management Presidency (AFAD).
The earthquakes stuck nearly half an hour apart at 2.32 a.m. local time [0532GMT] and 3.03 a.m. [0603GMT] at a depth of about seven kilometers with its epicenter in the district of Sivrice.

4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hit in Eastern Turkey
A 4.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck Sivrice, eastern Turkey, Istanbul Kandilli Research Center said.
The city of Sivrice is in the Turkish in Elazig province. The earthquake was registered at 18:36 CET at a 1.5 km depth.
Earlier this month, Elazig Province was hit by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that killed 41 people and injured more than 1,000.

Main opposition leader visits earthquake-hit region
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on Jan. 31 visited Elazığ province and its districts that were hit by an earthquake which killed 41 people last week.
"Turkey's entire population was united over the earthquake in Elazığ province," Kılıçdaroğlu told reporters.
