Two Turkish soldiers were killed in an attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Hakkari, the military said Dec. 25.

Forty-five PKK terrorists were killed, 19 terrorists were captured in nationwide operations in Turkey in the past week, interior ministry said Monday, Daily Sabahreported.

Security forces, including special operations squads from gendarmerie, police and gendarmerie commando units carried out a total of 455 anti-terror operations throughout the country.

At least 16 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed in counter-terrorism operations in northern Iraq and southeastern Turkey on Sept. 27, according to a statement issued by the Turkish General Staff.

One person was killed while five others were wounded in an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on Syrian migrants in the Şemdinli district of the southeastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 25.
 

Turkish jets have destroyed weapon depots and hideouts used by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement on Sept. 24.         

It said warplanes carried out an airstrike in the Gara region on Sept. 23 and destroyed arms and ammunition depots used by PKK militants.

One soldier was killed in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the Yüksekova district of the southeastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 22, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

PKK militants detonated a hand-made explosive placed on a road near the Esendere-Çobanpınar region during the passage of an armored military vehicle.

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu has said he is receiving death threats following his remarks on the use of armed drones in the country's southeast.

More than 1,800 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were "neutralized" by security forces over the last nine months, the Turkish General Staff has said in a statement. 

The Turkish military has denied allegations that armed drones used during operations against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the country's southeast killed civilians on Aug. 31.
