As many as 89.3% of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania who died had at least one comorbidity, according to a report by the National Centre for Surveillance and Control of Communicable Diseases with the National Institute of Public Health.

Another 6 persons infected with the novel coronavirus have died, the COVID-19 death toll thus reaching 723, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Friday. Nearly 41,000 coronavirus tests have been performed so far, at national level, the Strategic Communication Group announces on Monday. According to the quoted source, up to this date, 40,987 tests have been processed. Most cases confirmed with the new coronavirus are still registered in Suceava county - 1,228 and in Bucharest - 566.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Romania passed the 2,000 mark Monday evening, moving the country to stage four in the fight against the disease.
