The law will come to force eight days from the publication in the Official Gazette. Serbia's Parliament also adopted today the Law on constructing highway E-761, more precisely, road section Pojate-Preljina, 110 kilometers long.

Heavy rain in Belgrade in the last few days has left many streets in the city under water. Many pavements, driveways and parking lots are submerged and in some places water has entered buildings.

On Sunday evening even the main highway was under water. Mayor Zoran Radojicic blamed this on malfunctions in two pumping stations. Due to the floods, traffic in Belgrade remains difficult.

"It is a good opportunity to see how both smaller and bigger European cities are doing, and how we are actually on the same page for how we want to introduce citizens to decision-making," Radomir Lazovic, one of the founders of Ne Davimo Beograd, said.

The official launch of direct Belgrade-Cairo flights was on Thursday attended by Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic, Egyptian Ambassador to Belgrade Amr Aljowaily and Air Serbia CEO Duncan Naysmith, the Egyptian embassy in Belgrade said in a statement.

According to the government, they discussed projects that the Serbian government is implementing with this Chinese company, which successfully operates in 157 countries of the world.

The government announced the event, saying it was "a prestigious gathering of the world's leading innovators, scientists, business leaders and artists, who will present the ideas of the new age in an inspirational way."

Speaking for Prva TV in Belgrade on Tuesday, he added:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic signed with the consortium Power Construction Company of China and Azvirt a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.

RTS is reporting about this, noting that some countries rake in as much as a third of their tourism revenues from Danube-centered tourism alone - while for Serbia, this figure is only 12 percent.
