Sapic: New Year's Eve celebrations showed Belgrade is one of Europe's safest capitals

BELGRADE - The head of the City of Belgrade Interim Authority Aleksandar Sapic said on Wednesday New Year's Eve celebrations in Belgrade had demonstrated the city was one of the safest capitals in Europe.

"We need to start appreciating the fact we can move in the streets freely even though we live in a metropolis that is developing at tremendous speed," Sapic told Happy TV.

"Reporter N1 reports the following from the protest of Djilas students, who block the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in Belgrade during the holiday rush: 'There will be music, songs, a DJ has been announced, a kettle will be boiled, most likely beans will be on the menu!'", it was posted on the "Lie Detector" profile on the "X" social network.

Vucic: I am only interested in soonest possible conclusion of electoral process

BACKI BREG - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday he did not keep up to date with statements by politicians but was only interested in a soonest possible conclusion of the electoral process.

Speaking to reporters at Backi Breg near Sombor, northern Serbia, Vucic said politicians in Serbia became modern quickly but that that lasted for three, four or six months.
