Proposal to extend Athens metro hours
City officials recently met with Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) planners to discuss extending operating hours for Metro lines 2 and 3.
The proposal includes extending service by one hour on weekdays, shifting the last departure from 12.23 a.m. to 1.30 a.m., and by one to two hours on Fridays and Saturdays, potentially extending it until 2.30 a.m. or 3.30 a.m.

Athens metro and tram holiday schedule
During the holiday period leading up to New Year and Epiphany, Athens metro and tram lines will operate on a modified timetable with reduced services. All rail services will conclude by 11 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

Mary McCartney directed the new documentary, "If These Walls Could Sing," which gets a worldwide release on Disney+ on January 6 after premiering in North America in December.

The film "Omar ve Biz" (Omar and Us), directed by Matyna Er Gorbach and Mehmet Bahadır Er, has won awards at an international festival.
The 2019 film, shot in collaboration with TRT with the support of the Culture and Tourism Ministry, won three big awards at the 10th South European Film Festival (SEE) organized in France.

Three-Time Formula 1 World Champion Niki Lauda has Died at the Age of 70
Three-time Formula 1 world champion Niki Lauda has died at the age of 70.
Lauda, who underwent a lung transplant in August, "passed away peacefully" on Monday, his family said.
The legendary Austrian, one of the best-known figures in motor racing, took the title for Ferrari in 1975 and 1977 and McLaren in 1984.
Greece's Demy into Eurovision final
Demy, Greece's representative in the 2017 Eurovision song contest, was two of 10 to qualify for the final in the first round of heats in Kiev, Ukraine.
The 25-year-old singer performed "This Is Love," a song composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos with lyrics from Romy Papadea and John Ballard.

'Early Bird' Festival For Student Films Starts In Sofia
The tenth edition of the "Early Bird" international festival for student films starts in Sofia on November 6.
The festival will present to the audience 122 student films from 37 countries till November 11 in the Cinema House (Dom na kinoto) and the G8 cultural centre.
The international jury will distribute the prize of USD 4100 in ten categories.
Entry is free.
