2016–17 Superleague Greece

PAOK is docked seven points and Xanthi 12

PAOK and Xanthi have been docked points by the sports judge examining the case of their alleged joint ownership, altering significantly the Super League table just before the playoffs and playouts kick off.
PAOK is now 14 points behind leader Olympiakos as it was docked seven points on Thursday, to stay in second but just one point ahead of AEK.

Another victory for PAOK, at Xanthi

PAOK edged ever closer to its first league crown since 1985 with its win at Xanthi on Sunday, while Olympiakos came from behind to beat Atromitos at home.

The Thessaloniki giant is four games away from an unbeaten title, after seeing off Xanthi 2-1, goals coming from Sergio Oliveira and Pedro Enrique. Dinis Almeida pulled one back for the Thrace club.

Larissa and PAOK take upper hand in Cup semis

Larissa upset AEK in the first leg of the Greek Cup semifinal and is looking good to meet the other semi's hot favorite PAOK in the final, given the Thessaloniki club's triumph at Panionios.

Larissa left it late but managed to find the winning goal and beat AEK 2-1 at home on Thursday, as well as beating disappointment from AEK's goal that should not have counted.

PAOK and PAO earn advantage ahead of play-offs

The regular season of the Super League ended on Sunday, and with Olympiakos already crowned champion and Levadiakos and Veria going down, the only thing left to settle was the points with which PAOK, Panathinaikos, AEK and Panionios would enter the Champions League qualification play-offs. Sunday's victories of PAOK and Panathinaikos gave them extra advantage over the other two teams.

PAO, AEK do not capitalize on Olympiakos's draw

Olympiakos dropped two points at Platanias Hanion on Saturday, but Panathinaikos and AEK drew their derby a day later failing to capitalize on that rare snag Olympiakos hit. Panionios and Xanthi did cut the distance from the top of the Super League as the two joint-second teams are now 10 points behind the leader. Two games were postponed because of frozen pitches.
