EUR 30 mil from earlier EBRD loans to be used for repairs
BELGRADE – A total of EUR 30 million from previously approved European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) loans for the reconstruction and modernization of Serbia’s railways will be reallocated for emergency repairs of Serbia’s railway infrastructure damaged in the massive flooding in the second half of May.
Smederevo Steel Plant to begin operating in late June
BELGRADE - The Smederevo Steel Plant will begin operating on June 29 when one of the two furnaces will be restored, Radio Television of Serbia reported.
Due to the lack of raw materials, one furnace in the Smederevo Steel Plant has not been operating for years now, while the other has been working with reduced capacities as of May 2.

Attacks on Muslims Reported in East Bosnia
Attacks on Muslims in the eastern Bosnian town of Zvornik have become more frequent, with many reports of verbal and physical abuses, the Islamic Community in Tuzla said on Wednesday.
“In the urban area of Zvornik in recent times several incidents were reported, which have disturbed Muslims in the town,” the organisation said in a press release.

Sarajevo To Honour Much Loved Pope With Statue
A statue of the late Pontiff John Paul II, who was Pope from 1978 to 2005, is to be erected soon in Sarajevo beside the Catholic Sacred Heart Cathedral in the city centre.
The statue of the former Pope is to be unveiled on April 30, after a ceremonial council of the priests of the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna, as the Sarajevo diocese is known.

Bosnian Croat Sentenced for Dretelj Camp Abuse
The Appellate Chamber of the Bosnian State Court sentenced a former member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, Drazen Mikulic, to a year-and-a-half in prison for crimes against a Bosniak civilian held in the Dretelj camp, near Capljina, in 1993.
