Technologies are increasingly entering the field of medicine. But when it comes to heart surgery, they can play a decisive role. See how in the United States a heart made with a 3D printer helps surgeons.

Scientists at AxolotlBiosystems, an Istanbul-based 3D bioprinter company, have developed sensitive high-tech devices that have already been embraced by leading international universities.

35-year-old Ivaylo Josifov was an active, healthy individual who thought he only had a case of tonsillitis when he went to the doctor recently. A chest X-ray, however, showed that he had a growth in the area of his fifth right rib. It was a congenital disease that could lead to the weakening of the chest and issues like difficulty breathing.

Expectant parents can now print models of their unborn children using ultrasound photos. The models can be 3D-printed in plastic and even in precious metals such as silver, gold and platinum.

Thanks to a project developed by academics at Anadolu University in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir, significant artifacts in museums around the world have been materialized with 3D printers for the benefit of visually impaired people.
