Rare Viking treasures discovered in Denmark
Seven ancient silver bracelets which show the staggering breadth of the Vikings' reach have been found in Denmark, a museum said on Aug. 19.
One of the bracelets, which date from the ninth century, was inspired by Russian or Ukrainian models while others were of a Scandinavian type that later influenced bangles in Ireland.

Turkish club’s doner sale turns into political crisis in Denmark
Danish People's Party (DPP), a nationalist-conservative party in Denmark, has lashed out at Turkish club Vatanspor for selling doner kebab at a stadium in Aarhus, the country's second biggest city, the daily Milliyet has reported.
"Traditionally, pork sausages are sold at Danish stadiums. This would disintegrate society," said Pia Kjaersgaard, the leader of the party.
Aarhus Convention: Council Decision to Strengthen Access to Justice in Environmental Matters
The Council today asked the Commission to submit a study on the Aarhus Convention. The aim of the Aarhus Convention is to guarantee access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters. The EU and its member states are fully committed to the Convention and its objectives.
Ai Weiwei pulls Danish exhibitions in protest at migrant law
Dissident Chinese artist Ai Weiwei said he would withdraw from two exhibitions in Denmark to protest against an asylum law passed by parliament that included rules on confiscating valuables from migrants to help pay for their stay.
His decision is the latest in a cultural backlash against Denmark which on Jan. 26 passed the measures aimed at deterring refugees from seeking asylum.
