In Turkey, autistic youth are always on the back burner
Autistic youth in Turkey have pressing problems, but authorities never manage to find the time to solve them, according to one of the founders of the Istanbul Association of Autistic Volunteers.
People with autism perform at online festival
People with autism who cannot leave their homes due to the COVID-19 outbreak are displaying their skills at the İZOT Home Autism Festival organized by the İzmir Autism Orchestra and Choir on social media.
Having given concerts in 180 cities in different countries since 2013, İZOT's concert programs, which were planned to start in March, had been canceled.

The government is deciding on new measures
The government should adopt earlier announced relief measures for pensioners as well as people with disabilities and autism.
Measures to assist farmers will also be discussed at the session.
As announced, the measures will take effect after Easter weekend.

Istanbul landmarks to be decorated in blue lights for autism awareness
Historical buildings, bridges, and towers in Turkey will be lit in blue today to mark World Autism Awareness Day.
The July 15 Martyrs' Bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge as well as the Galata Tower in Istanbul will be illuminated as a part of the "Light It Up Blue" for the World Autism Awareness Day campaign.
‘Rising signs of depression, in Turkey’ warns medical expert
According to data from the Health Ministry, increasing number of people in Turkey suffer from depression, said Professor Mansur Beyazyürek. "Independent of their socio-economic level or political views Turks give signs of depression; this is across the board phenomenon," Beyazyürek told Hürriyet Daily News.
Survey among Students: Six Hours Spent behind the Desk Leads to Depression
Six hours behind the desk are enough for teenagers to develop some form of depression, according to researchers quoted by Metro. The newspaper cites a study by specialists at University College London. They examined data from 4257 adolescents whose movements were monitored with accelerometers for at least 10 hours a day. Participants' behavior was reported at 12, 14, and 16 years of age.

52% of Bulgarian Teens Have Been Exposed to Extreme Online Content
52% of Bulgarian teenagers aged 14-19 have been exposed to extreme content online, according to a nationally representative survey, part of a national "Find another way" campaign aimed at promoting critical thinking and civic engagement among young people. About 30% of them came across such content by accident, the survey shows.
