Tunnels Along Struma Highway To Be Inspected on February 27,28
The tunnels along the Struma highway and the Trayanovi vrata tunnel on the Trakia highway will be inspected on February 27 and 28, announced the press centre of the Road Infrastructure Agency.
During the inspections, there will be temporary re-routing of traffic between 08:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs.
Istanbul subsea tunnel megaproject put out to tender for feasibility study
A three-level subsea tunnel under Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait, which will connect the city's two sides with one railway and two highways, has been put out to tender for feasibility efforts.
Four companies have presented technical and financial offers in the tender for project and engineering services for the "Grand Istanbul Tunnel," which is estimated to be worth $3.5 billion.
Key Bulgarian Tunnel Reopens after Tragic Incident
The Echemishka tunnel is reopening to traffic after a lamp fell off the ceiling, hit a car and killed a woman on Sunday, authorities say.
The tunnel is part of a road used by tens of thousands of commuters on a daily basis, but has not undergone repairs since it was carved into the slopes in 1985.
