Bulgarian Christians Celebrate Spasovden: The Feast of the Ascension
Today, the Orthodox world observes the great feast of the Lord - the Ascension of Christ. Bulgarian Christians refer to this holiday as Spasovden, signifying the completion of Christ's work of salvation for humanity through his ascension.

Тhe Bulgarian Orthodox Church honors today the Ascension of the Lord, also called Spasovden. It is always celebrated on Thursday, the 40th day after the Resurrection of Christ - Easter.
According to the New Testament, 40 days after his resurrection, Jesus Christ remained on earth to preach his study and talk to the apostles.

Heroes Day, celebrated on Feast of Ascension of Jesus Christ countrywide
Heroes Day is celebrated on Thursday, June 6, on Ascension Day, all over the country through military and religious ceremonies, wreaths laying at the tombs and memorials of the heroes fallen in the line of duty, over time, on the battlefields.
