USA: Boeing workers go on strike – They rejected the agreement on new contracts
Boeing workers in the Seattle region voted 96 percent in favor of a strike last Thursday night, halting production of the company’s best-selling airplane at a time when Boeing is facing chronic production delays and mounting debts.

Hollywood actors ratify contract to formally end strike
Hollywood actors overwhelmingly ratified a new, hard-fought deal with studios on Dec. 5 that paves the way for a rebound of an entertainment industry that had seen film and television production come to a halt during a months-long strike.
The Screen Actors Guild, known as SAG-AFTRA, said 78 percent of members who voted approved the multiyear contract.

Emmys postponed until January over Hollywood strikes
The Emmy Awards have been postponed by almost four months, organizers said on Aug. 10, as crippling strikes by Hollywood's actors and writers drag on with no resolution in sight.
Television's equivalent of the Oscars had been due to take place this September, but will now be held in mid-January next year, broadcaster Fox and the Television Academy wrote in a statement.
