Angeliki Frangou: Placed orders for the construction of four additional tankers worth $263.7 million

Navios Maritime Partners, listed on the New York Stock Exchange and owned by Angeliki Frangou, a diversified company, has added four more shipbuilding orders for large aframax tankers as part of its ongoing extensive fleet renewal process.

Greeks have placed 163 orders for shipbuilding in 2024

Greek shipowners in 2024 in the shipbuilding order sector. In total, they have placed 163 orders with most of them or 88 being for tankers 53.9%.

These include 22 MR2, 19 Suezmax and 17 Aframax/LR2.

They also placed 31 orders for LNG carriers rate 19%. They have placed 27 orders for dry cargo carrier shipbuilding, 16.5% percentage of which 18 are for the Kamsarmax segment.

Greek-operated tanker damaged by mine at Saudi terminal, says security firm

A Greek-operated tanker was damaged by a mine at a Saudi Arabian terminal, damaging its hull, British maritime security company Ambrey said on Wednesday.

The Maltese-flagged tanker Agrari, is operated by Greece's TMS Tankers, Ambrey said. TMS could not be reached for immediate comment.
