Several days of Riots in Netherlands Has Ended
Netherlands saw street riots for 3 days ending with over 500 people detained.
In several cities, including the capital Amsterdam, some businesses closed early and emergency ordinances were in place to give law enforcement greater powers to respond to the rioting, which was prompted by a nighttime curfew to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Nearly 25,000 people violate curfews, weekend lockdown
Some 25,000 people in Turkey violated weeknight curfews and a full lockdown on the weekend between Jan. 11 and Jan. 18, the country's Interior Ministry has announced.
As part of the government's measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, Turkey has been implementing the curfews and lockdowns since early December 2020.

Authorities extend lockdown for Sperchiada until Jan 18
Greek authorities extended a stricter lockdown imposed on the small town of Sperchiada in the region of Fthiotida, central Greece, until January 18, Civil Protection announced on Wednesday evening.
The measures are initially introduced on January 5 after health authorities detected a higher number of coronavirus cases.
Stricter lockdown introduced for Sparta, Argolida
After Lesvos and Viotia, Greek authorities announced on Wednesday that the regional unit of Argolida in the eastern part of the Peloponnese and the municipality of Sparta in the region of Laconia would also enter into a stricter lockdown for five days, to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The measures will apply until 6 a.m. on January 18.

More restrictions imposed on Lesvos to tackle viral load
The island of Lesvos in the eastern Aegean will enter a stricter six-day lockdown as of Wednesday, due to an increased number of coronavirus infections, Greek authorities said on Tuesday.
Health authorities reported 23 new infections on Lesvos on Tuesday.
The measures will apply until 6 a.m. on January 18.
Nearly 36,000 people violate curfews
Officials have taken action against a total of 35,544 people that violated weeknight curfews and weekend lockdowns in Turkey between Jan. 4 and Jan. 11, the country's Interior Ministry has said.
Curfews are in effect across 81 provinces from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. while the lockdown lasts from 9 p.m. on Fridays to 5 a.m. on Mondays.

Cyprus returns to lockdown conditions to stem virus spread
Cyprus is returning to lockdown for the remainder of the month, including daytime restrictions on movement and a shuttering of schools, after the government conceded Friday that a nightly curfew and other existing measures weren't enough to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.
Extra restrictions for small town in central Greece due to virus
Deputy Minister for Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias announced Monday additional restrictions for the small town of Sperchiada in the region of Fthiotida, central Greece, after health authorities detected an increased number of coronavirus cases.
The measures will apply for 10 days, from January 5 to 6 a.m. on January 14.
