ATMs, banks, town hall, post office targeted by vandals in Attica
A series of attacks were carried out by unknown assailants from 8.30 p.m. on Thursday until 3 a.m. on Friday on cash machines, banks, a Hellenic Post branch, a local town hall and a vehicle, in various areas of Attica.
According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the perpetrators initially vandalized ATMs in Petralona.
Another night of arson attacks in Attica
Police were again on Tuesday investigating a fresh round of overnight arson attacks across Attica. According to police and fire department authorities perpetrators set fire to vehicles and an ATM machine.

Two ATMs blown up in Athens suburbs
Unknown assailants blew up two cash machines in the Athens suburbs of Lykovrisi and Aghioi Anargyroi but failed in both instances to retrieve any money.
According to reports, the explosion in Lykovrisi occurred shortly after midnight Tuesday, while the one in Aghioi Anargyroi occurred at 3.45 a.m., causing extensive damage to an adjacent supermarket and a parked car.

Landslide in PPC plant reveals prehistoric tusk
Crews working at an area in Western Macedonia where a lignite mine used by Public Power Corporation (PPC) collapsed last year have unearthed a two-meter prehistoric tusk, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported on Wednesday.

Neighborhood police scheme to be boosted in three parts of Greece
The Greek Police (ELAS) is to extend the so-called neighborhood policeman scheme to cover another 13 districts in Athens, Kilkis in northern Greece, and Achaia in the Peloponnese, it emerged on Friday.
Greek village evacuated after mine collapses
A destroyed road near the lignite coal mine area, where a huge landslide occurred near Amyntaio, Monday. Big masses of soil moved about 40 meters, causing dozens of residents of nearby village Agioi Anargyroi to evacuate their homes. A large portion of the mine collapsed and four excavators were crushed under tons of soil.

Minister orders demolition of northern Greece village after PPC mine collapse
Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis on Sunday ordered the demolition of Anargyroi, a village in northern Greece that suffered extensive damage when a lignite mine used by Public Power Corporation collapsed on Saturday.

Athens police suspect law school occupiers in church vandalism, robbery
An Athens prosecutor on Monday filed charges against persons unknown for stealing from and vandalizing a small church near Athens Law School, which has been the site of a sit-in protest since Friday.
Vandals broke into Aghioi Anargyroi on Saturday night, smashing pews and an icon, as well as stealing valuable votive offerings and money from the collection box.
