Spielberg, 'Top Gun' feted by National Board of Review

The prize for best film of the year at the National Board of Review (NBR) Awards went to "Top Gun: Maverick." Martin McDonagh's "The Banshees of Inisherin" took home the most trophies. But the night belonged to its best-director honoree, Steven Spielberg, and the parade of tributes paid to the 76-year-old filmmaker.

Google is Expanding its Artificial Intelligence in China

Google pulled some of its core businesses out of China seven years ago, after concluding that government controls and surveillance ran counter to its commitment to a free and open internet, reported NY Times. 

Since then, as China's online scene has grown and prospered, the American search giant has been looking for ways to tiptoe back in.

Esquire, the renowned Men’s fashion magazine released its top 25 movies for 2016, with the editors’ top pick being Greek director Yorgos Lanthimo’s “The Lobster”, starring Collin Farrell. It is quite an honour for a Greek film to beat out some of the biggest names in the film industry. Another notable Greek entry into its list at 10th spot is Athina Rachel Tsangari’s “Chevaler”.

Radu Jude, about "Aferim!": We could have just as well done it as a colour or sepia film

I believe that this film would have functioned pretty much of the same manner if we did it as a colour or sepia film, instead of making it black&white, film director Radu Jude said after the first premiere dedicated to the critics and media of his "Aferim!" film, for which he received the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival.
