Strong demand for air travel to Cyprus
Airplanes arriving in Cyprus were about 85% full in May, with numbers continuing to climb, according to Maria Kouroupi, director of aviation development and communication at Hermes Airports.
Kouroupi told the Cyprus News Agency on Friday that about 41,000 passengers are passing through Larnaca and Paphos airports daily.

Singapore Airline offers pay to victims of severe turbulence
Singapore Airlines said on Tuesday it has offered $10,000 compensation to passengers who suffered minor injuries on a flight hit by violent turbulence last month and will discuss higher payouts with those more badly hurt.

Turkish Airlines posts $226 mln profit in first quarter
Turkish Airlines' (THY) financials have shown that the flag carrier made a net profit of $266 million in the first quarter of 2024.
Total revenues grew 9.6 percent in the January-March period to reach $4.77 billion, with passenger revenue rising 4.8 percent to $3.82 billion.
Cargo revenues amounted to $750 million in the first quarter, up 27 percent from a year earlier.

Aegean offers additional seats this summer
Aegean Airlines, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is offering a greater number of available seats during the summer season of 2024, placing particular emphasis on further reducing seasonality.
As stated by Yannis Rasoglou, director of Network and Airline Partnerships, this summer the airline will have 13.4 million seats, up 6% from last year.

Turkish Airlines carries nearly 26 million passengers in January-April
The number of passengers Turkish Airlines carried in the first four months of 2024 increased by 8 percent from a year ago to 25.94 million.
The international passenger tally rose by 6.1 percent annually to 16.3 million, while domestic passengers were up 11.5 percent to 9.2 million.
Turkish Airlines to launch Denver flights in June
Turkish Airlines is preparing to start flights from Istanbul to Denver in mid-June that will bring the number of destinations the flag carrier flies to the U.S. to 14.
There will be three weekly flights between Istanbul and Denver, starting on June 11, while the flight frequency between the two cities is planned to be increased to four in July.

Lufthansa stops using Iran airspace and keeps halt on Tehran flights
German airline Lufthansa said Friday its planes would no longer use Iranian airspace as it extended a suspension on flights to and from Tehran amid soaring Middle East tensions.
"Due to the current situation, Lufthansa is suspending its flights to and from Tehran up to and including Thursday, 18 April," a company spokesperson said Friday.
