Akkan Suver, the Marmara Group Foundation president, has been awarded with the "Decoration of Honour in Gold" by the Austrian State during a ceremony held by Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen at the Austrian Embassy in Ankara. 

The president of the Marmara Group Foundation, Dr. Akkan Suver, has been awarded with a special merit medal by Albania for his works on peace and stability in the Balkans.

Speaking during the medal ceremony on June 9, Albanian President Bujar Nishani stated that Suver had worked to foster peace, stability and coexistence in the Balkans with the NGO that he leads with modest means.

President of the Marmara Group Foundation Akkan Suver, fashion designer Çiğdem Akın and vice president of Istanbul Ready-Made Garment Exporters' Association (IHKIB) Mustafa Gültepe came together for a press conference on March 30 to give detailed information about the upcoming 20th Eurasian Economic Summit.

The 20th Eurasian Economic Summit, an Istanbul-based forum that is marking its 20th year, will address a wide range of regional issues, focusing on the challenges faced by the EU, efforts against terrorism, and migration, under the annual headline of "Humanity at Crossroads."

Some 40 countries and five presidents will attend the 20th Eurasian Economic Summit, a prestigious gathering organized by The Marmara Group Foundation in international arena. The summit 'Humanity at a Crossroads' will be held between April 4 and 6 in Istanbul 

While many international conferences in Turkey are being canceled due to recent terrorist attacks, the 19th Eurasian Economic Summit will go ahead as planned in Istanbul from April 5 to 7. In addition to terrorism and migration issues, climate change will also be debated by participants from a region rich in fossil fuels. 

The Marmara Group Foundation has granted, by unanimous decision, veteran businessman Jak Kamhi with the title of honorary president at an extraordinary general assembly, as the Istanbul-based non-governmental organization also reelected Dr. Akkan Suver as its president. 

The People's Republic of China Reform Forum delegation, under the presidency of Lin Jingtian, visited the Marmara Group Foundation in Istanbul with representatives including academics and other guests, the foundation said in a written statement on Sept. 2. 

In a grand gesture, the Republic of Azerbaijan has printed special edition postage stamps for the 18th Eurasian Economic Summit.

The stamps, which have pictures of the flags and landmarks of both Azerbaijan and Turkey (the Flame Towers in Baku and Istanbul?s iconic Sultanahmet Mosque) were printed as a gesticulation of the good relationship between the two countries.

The 18th Eurasian Economic Summit, organized by the Marmara Group Foundation, is once again ready to host statesmen and opinion leaders from 40 different countries until April 9, offering a unique platform to discuss the most heated issues of today's world and the future.
