US strikes Iran-linked sites in Syria in retaliation for attacks on US troops
U.S. fighter jets launched airstrikes early Friday on two locations in eastern Syria linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Pentagon said, in retaliation for a slew of drone and missile attacks against U.S. bases and personnel in the region that began early last week.

Two drones were shot down Monday during an attempted attack on a base housing US forces in Syria, the Pentagon said, after a militant group claimed to have targeted American troops.

This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov.
"At 07:34 on July 26, at an altitude of 6,200 meters in the El-Bab area, the MQ-9 drone of the 'coalition' again came dangerously close to a pair of Su-35 and Su-34 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces," Gurinov said.
