Turkey determined over drilling off Cyprus…
Turkey’s Energy Minister Berat Albayrak says his county will determinedly move ahead with oil and natural gas drilling in the Mediterranean—including around Cyprus – as well as in the Black Sea.
Speaking to Turkish newspaper Habertürk, Albayrak said Turkey expects to begin using its own drill within the last quarter of this year.

Siemens and Turkish partners win billion-dollar wind energy tender
A consortium of German giant Siemens and Turkey's Türkerler and Kalyon Enerji holdings won a billion-dollar wind energy tender on Aug. 3, offering the lowest price to the state with $3.48 cents per kilowatt hour.
Turkey sends “Barbaros” vessel off coast of Cyprus
Turkish seismographic research/survey vessel Barbaros, which until yesterday evening was anchored in a port in southern Turkey sailed off the coast of Cyprus.
According to “Marine Traffic,” Barbaros is currently just off the coast of Morphou bay on the north-western side of the island. The tracking site, however, says the destination of the vessel is Moudania, in northwestern Turkey.

Turkey and Israel prepare for gas pipeline deal
Berat Albayrak, Turkey’s Energy Minister and son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is set to visit Israel by the end of this year to conclude an agreement for the building of a natural gas pipeline between the two countries.

Turkey's new seismic survey ship Oruç Reis ready to enter service
Turkey's new seismic survey ship, MTA Oruç Reis, has become ready to enter service.
State-run Anadolu Agency reported on June 28 that all required tests of the ship had been completed.
The MTA Oruç Reis ship will become Turkey's second national seismic survey at international standards, joing the Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa.
Turkey to start drilling in Med by year's end
With the Geneva peace conference on Cyprus confirmed for June 28, Turkey's Energy Minister Berat Albayrak upped the ante with Nicosia on Friday, saying that Ankara intends to remain active with its research ships, not just within its own waters "but in those of Northern Cyprus" as well.

Turkish daily Aydınlık's chief editor detained in Turkey's east
Turkish daily Aydınlık's Editor-in-Chief İlker Yücel was detained in the eastern province of Iğdır on June 3.
Yücel, who went to Iğdır three days ago to visit his friends, was detained by the security forces, before taken to a courthouse.
Yücel said that he was detained over not publishing a text of refutation sent by Energy Minister Berat Albayrak.

Turkey is a key country for establishing energy security in the region, Energy Minister Berat Albayrak said April 28.
Turkey plays a key role in the changing trends in the global energy sector as one of the biggest energy consumers among OECD countries, Albayrak said at the Atlantic Council Istanbul Summit.
Berlin deports Serbian killer of Turkish woman
Germany on April 20 deported to his native Serbia a man whose killing of a young Turkish woman sparked nationwide outrage.
Student Tuğçe Albayrak was hailed as a heroine after she intervened to protect two 14-year-old girls in an altercation in a fast-food restaurant in November 2014.
