A temporary traffic organization is being implemented in Sofia from today until September 14 due to the ongoing repair work on Opalchenska Street. The Center for Urban Mobility (CMG) has announced changes to the routes of trolleybus lines 1, 5, 7, and 11 as part of this temporary arrangement.

Authorities have launched a police and gendarmerie operation at two locations in Sofia, focusing on offices situated on "Parchevich" Street and "Stamboliyski" Boulevard. A tram derailment has the Bulgarian capital Sofia, not far from the city center.

There is no information about injured passengers so far, public broadcaster BNR has said.

It is not yet clear what caused the incident at the junction of Aleksandar Stamboliyski and Konstantin Velichkov Blvds.

Two hours on from the derailment, movement has been restored.
