Alimos Incident: High School Student and Father Arrested After Threatening Teacher and Vandalizing School
Police authorities arrested a minor and his father Thursday afternoon after an incident that occurred Wednesday at a school in the Alimos area.
Specifically, according to reports, the juvenile high school student and his father were arrested for threatening, damaging, and neglecting to supervise a minor, respectively.
Athens metro expected to get free Wi-Fi in September
Passengers in some of Athens' metro stations are expected to get a long-delayed access to the internet in September, when the first Wi-Fi connections will become operational.
Internet will be available at the metro stations but not inside the tunnels, the Digital Governance Ministry has said. It was not clear which stations will be the ones with free internet access.
Trial for slain journalist Karaivaz postponed to July 5
The trial for the assassination of investigative journalist Giorgos Karaivaz, scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed until July 5 at the request of a lawyer representing Karaivaz's family.
Top party: The beach
The roadside above Limanakia in the southern Athenian suburb of Vouliagmeni was lined with parked cars on Sunday. People began flocking to the coastal coves early in the afternoon and stayed until late in the evening. Similar scenes were seen at other beaches in Attica - the beaches of Legrena and Alimos were also packed - as well as almost everywhere else in the country.

Traffic measures due to controlled detonation in southern Athens
Special traffic regulations are to be implemented on Thursday in road sections of Alimos, Glyfada, Elliniko, and Argiroupoli, due to the planned controlled detonation of obsolete munitions.
Section of coastal road closed to detonate WWII bomb
An army bomb disposal unit was working on Thursday morning to set off a controlled explosion that will neutralize a World War II 500lb bomb that was found the day before in the southern Athenian suburb of Glyfada.
The unexploded ordnance was found during construction work at the old Elliniko airport, the site of a major property development project.
