Bitcoin Rebounds Over $1,000 After Losing Almost a 3rd of Value

Bitcoin surged on Monday, recovering more than $1,000 after losing almost a third of its value in less than four days as traders bought back into the volatile cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin tumbled in the second half of last week, falling as low as $5,555 on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp exchange on Sunday, a slide of almost 30 percent from a record high just shy of $7,900 on Wednesday..

Bitcoin dropped below $6,300

The world's most popular cryptocurrency bitcoin dropped below $6,300 on Sunday, losing more than a fifth of its value since hitting an all-time high set earlier this week.

Bitcoin was trading at $6,221 at 7:30am GMT on Sunday, plunging over 20 percent from its Wednesday record high, according to data compiled by industry website Coinmarketcap.

Bitcoin price crashes over $1,000

The world's most popular cryptocurrency bitcoin dropped below $7,000 on Friday, having fallen by well over $1,000 since hitting an all-time high set earlier this week.

Bitcoin was trading at $ 6,832 at 2:00pm GMT on Friday, fixing the drop at 3.64 percent, according to data compiled by industry website Coinmarketcap.
