Amadeus

Within the scope of the Beyoğlu Cultural Road Festival, the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB) will present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 'Don Giovanni' opera at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) Theater Stage. One of the masterpieces of opera literature, the performance will be on stage on June 8 at 8 pm.

The Royal National Theater's production of Peter Shaffer's critically acclaimed fictional account of the lives of Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, "Amadeus," will be screened live from London's Olivier Theater at the Athens Concert Hall on Thursday, February 2. The screening starts at 9 p.m.

One of the greatest musicians of all time, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, will be featured in a ballet work for the first time following a host of theater plays, films and books. 

The seventh International Şefika Kutluer Festival, organized under the name of internationally acclaimed Turkish flutist Şefika Kutluer, known as the Magic Flute, will be held from Dec. 2 to 20 in Istanbul and Ankara.

A long-lost musical composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri was found tucked away in the collection of the Czech national museum.

“It’s a joint composition by Mozart and Salieri, a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte put to music,” Sarka Dockalova, the museum’s spokeswoman, told AFP.
