Group calls for halt on new hotels in Acropolis area
The Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ELLET) is calling for a halt to the creation of new hotels in the Makrigianni-Koukaki area of central Athens near the Acropolis.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is popular among tourists
The second most visited monument in Greece after the Acropolis is that of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament building in Athens.
More specifically, its visitors are estimated at over 15 million per year and among them are tourists from all over the world, as well as Greeks who either live in Attica or visit Athens for business or leisure.
Acropolis Museum to mark European Night of Museums with late opening
The Acropolis Museum will mark the European Night of Museums on Saturday, May 13, with extended opening hours from 9 a.m. to midnight and free entry from 8 p.m.
Visitors will be able to admire the masterpieces of its collections under the evening light while the restaurant on the second floor will be open during the same hours.

Top court ruling tackling hotelization of city center
