Plan for new Thessaloniki forest unveiled
A Thessaloniki businessman has unveiled plans to plant a new forest in a northern suburb of the city.
Under the plans, presented by Stavros Andreadis to the mayor of Pavlos Melas, Dimitris Aslanidis, 300,000 trees will be planted on site of 300 hectares in the Efkarpia district.

Rise in seat availability to regional airports is scaled down
The availability of air seats to regional airports in Greece from foreign markets this year will only rise by 1 million over 2016, and not 3.5 million as carriers had originally planned for, according to data from the Institute of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).

The Benaki Museum's Pireos Street annex presents "Athens Views," a participatory photo project developed by Ianna Andreadis featuring an exhibition of 110 photographs and projections of an additional 400 images from 500 contributors exploring their relationships with the city they live in. The project began in January 2013 through an open invitation on Facebook.

Tourism: Over 50,000 new jobs created
Speaking at the first open conference of the Confederation of Greek Businessmen’s Tourist Accommodations, held on the sidelines of the Expo Hotel at the Tae Kwon Do stadium, President of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) Andreas Andreadis pointed out that the 2016 season had ended with a rise of 1.5 million tourist arrivals, the total of which amounted to 25 million.
