Four more persons die to COVID-19 taking death toll to 1,223
Four more persons have passed away due to the novel coronavirus, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 1,223, the Strategic Communication Group informs on Wednesday.
165 new COVID-19 cases; infected - 17,036, deaths - 1,107
A number of 165 cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus was recorded in Romania since the last informative bulletin, the number thus reaching 17,036 infections, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced Monday. Of the persons confirmed positive, 9,930 were declared healed and discharged. There are 193 patients in intensive care.
Total number of coronavirus infections reaches 48
A new coronavirus infection case was confirmed on Thursday in Romania, the total number of infections reaching 48. The person is a woman from Bucharest aged 20. "Until today, March 12, at the national level there were 48 cases of persons infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) on Romanian soil," the Strategic Communication Group.

Coronavirus: 52 persons in institutionalized quarantine, 11,235 - in isolation at home and under medical monitoring in Romania
On Romania's soil there are 52 persons in institutionalized quarantine, for which checks are conducted to see if they contracted the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus), another 11,235 persons being in self isolation and under medical monitoring, the Strategic Communication Group informs.

Judo: Romanian Andreea Chitu through to semifinals of 52 kg category at Astana World Championships
Romanian Andreea Chitu qualified on Tuesday in the semifinals of the women's 52 kg category at the World Judo Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Chitu will fight Turkmenistan's Gulbadam Babamuratova for a place in the final; the other semifinal will see Japanese judoka Misato Nakamura take on Brazil's Erika Miranda.

Romanian judoka Monica Ungureanu won the gold medal in the women's 48-kg category of the Judo Grand Slam tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan, as she defeated Hungary's Eva Csernoviczki on Friday.
