The Turkish national team capitulated 2-0 to Ukraine late on Sept. 2, in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier Group I match, weakening its chances to make it to the world's most prestigious international tournament. 

KHARKIV - The Serbia men's national football team has ended the year with a 2-0 defeat to Ukraine in late Tuesday's friendly in Kharkiv.

Despite a solid display, a Serbia side that lacked several of head coach Slavoljub Muslin's first-team regulars lost as Yevhen Shakhov (38 min) and Andriy Yarmolenko (87 min pen) netted for the hosts.

Turkey, which grabbed a comeback draw against Ukraine in a Group I World Cup qualifier on Oct. 6, is now set to visit a well-motivated Iceland, which achieved an even more striking comeback against Finland on the same night.
