Have you ever wondered why we allow some people to treat us badly? "Badly" is very general and probably includes all sorts of things like verbal abuse, emotional manipulation, rudeness etc. However, this "bad" is always accompanied by a feeling of discomfort, sadness or anger on our part, as well as a sense of injustice about the fact that "we didn't deserve" that behavior.

Getting down to the root of teen violence
She is pretty, a good student and roll-call keeper of her class. There were those who were envious of her and wanted to harm her - to get "payback.' This is what motivated the teenage girls and boys who attacked the 14-year-old in the southern Athens suburb of Glyfada, kicking her furiously. Perhaps the fact that they didn't fully realize their motives is a significant part of the problem.

Who is to blame and what is to blame
In the last decade, during Greece's debt crisis, there was a lingering question: Who is to blame for this crisis that we were experiencing? In every conversation, even on festive occasions, there was the search for the culprits. I remember a marathon discussion I had with a shop-owner friend about the economic crisis. "OK, you were also tax evading for many years," I reprimanded him in anger.

Dispelling the shadows
The Tempe rail tragedy has inflicted a deep injury on Greek society. The extent and intensity of the public's anger is such that it cannot be placated with legal arguments and parliamentary maneuvers.
On the other hand, there is no doubt that the issue is being exploited politically by certain circles and that it is breeding all sorts of conspiracy theories.
