Last weekend, one thing led to another and we found ourselves watching a documentary on events that led to the 1980 military coup in Turkey. I could not have asked for anything better. It was almost like reliving 30 years ago today. And I started to remember.

An amazing timelapse video by Panagiotis Filippou took 365 days, 55,000 photos, 825 hours of shooting over 8400 km, and 650 hours of processing to make.

Included in the official selection of the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards for December, the video went on to win the award for ‘Best of the Fest’ by the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards (HIIDA).
