Erdoğan: Education reforms aim for 'Century of Türkiye'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has praised his administration's investments in education, saying that the country is moving closer to achieving the "Century of Türkiye" vision.

"We have taken historic steps in 22 years that objective ministers admire," Erdoğan said at an education summit in Istanbul on Sept. 6.

Ruling AKP launches process for change in key cadres

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has convened its main decision-making body under the leadership of President and Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for a change in key positions.

The Central Decision-Making Committee (MKYK) of the AKP will also outline a road map for the provincial conventions and next year's general convention.

Türkiye detains 15 over assaulting US servicemen in İzmir

Turkish security forces detained 15 members of a radical nationalist youth for attacking two U.S. military personnel in the western province of İzmir on Sept. 3.

Those arrested were members of the Turkish Youth Union (TGB), whose members have previously committed attacks against U.S. soldiers in several cities.

Erdoğan reiterates call for 'civilian' constitution

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has renewed his administration's push for a new constitution, emphasizing that the new document should be a "civilian text."

"We believe that it is high time for Türkiye to get rid of the current constitution, which is a product of a coup," Erdoğan said during an event in the capital Ankara on Sept. 2.
