Russian leader Putin meets Syrian president Assad in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad in Moscow, the Kremlin announced on Thursday.

In the talks, the first since March 2023, Putin highlighted his concerns over the situation in the Middle East, which he said was "tending to escalate," in opening remarks between the pair which were aired on state television on Thursday.

Stray dog bill passes parliamentary committee

A contentious bill regarding the handling of stray dogs has been approved by a parliamentary committee following a series of amendments.

The most debated change involved the fifth article of the bill, where the term "euthanasia" was removed.

Instead, a reference was made to the Veterinary Services Act, which still encompasses the same concept.

Erdoğan seeks support for peace efforts in Syria

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday stressed the importance of efforts for peace in neighboring Syria, urging all peace advocates to support this pivotal call.

"We want peace in Syria, and we expect everyone who stands for peace to support this historic call," Erdoğan told journalists during his return flight from a NATO leaders' summit in Washington, DC, this week.

Erdoğan holds bilateral talks at NATO summit in US

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is engaging in intensive bilateral talks during his visit to the United States for a three-day NATO summit.

The gathering kicked off with a ceremony commemorating the alliance's 75th anniversary.

Following the opening event, Erdoğan met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at his hotel.
